View Full Version : My whiptail cat died
I had this cool little whiptail catfish and its stupidity killed it... he apparently sucked on the filter and it sucked his sucker off so he starved cuse he couldnt eat :( He was a cool little fish too, not a monster though but it makes me sad!

how is that possible?
did he suck on the strainer or what?
I have no clue I walked into my room and I found a dead whip tail so I scoop him out and notice his sucker is missing and I remebered him sucking on the filter and then on the filter was his little weird thing it looked kinda like his suckie part and it didnt get sucked up it just stayed on it was weird... that or some how my parrots managed that... but they dont noramlly bother him. If that makes any sense at all...

whiptails really don't venture up ward unless theres a o2 problem probabaly died from something else and got his sucker chewed off sorry for your loss like these guys myself
Whiptails often die from no visible reason, they do require veggie supplements to there diet, like nori or spirolina, or they slowly lose tissue mass.
I fed him spirulina my parrots eat the pellets my front eats both and then the spirulina that went to the bottom usually stayed and he ate off it.

They do die quickly and its from lack of dissovled o2 the first sign is clinging on the tank glass and within hours they sometimes die

Well that wasn't it then, I mentioned it because it is pretty common.
