just got him today and thought id show him off to you all.

we have just added some bogwood to our tank thats why its gone a funny colour.

Beautiful "Monster In Progress" you picked up there. The black fins make him look like a Pseudodoras niger with a 'tude. I'm looking forward to seeing pics of him as he puts on tonnage while reaching his 36" adult size.

well we have only had him today and he hasnt moved about much but i think thats good bcos we can have a good look at him.

LOL, mines lazy and waits for the sinking pellets to go into his mouth, and the only tihng moving is his mouth.

got one too. second laziest fish i owned. feed him night crawlers and he'll move around. mine loves them. also they do not like the light, got to watch him with the lights off

These cats will show a little more activity if in a well aerated/oxygenated tank with moderate to strong water flow (at least mine did). They probably have fairly high O2 demands considering the waters they're caught in.

they do not like the light, got to watch him with the lights off
I rigged my fishroom with a few photo-developing darkroom lights. My nocturnal species can't see this light so, I can watch them easily when they think it's dark and become more active.

thanx guys for the comments.he was moving about this morning when the light was off,soon as i turned it on he found the bogwood and stayed there.
this wkend or next il be adding a tiger shovelnose to the tank which is a few inch bigger than the niger.
