with the hump on it's head, I think it's a male. FH are really aggressive fish, usually don't stand for any tank mates, and will even beat up on it's mate. Seen it happen.
If you got an extra tank, I say put him there; or you can try to divide up the tank if your tank is big enough, and one final trick that i don't really know if it will work with FH is to get a fish net, wait for the FH to act up, then chase the bugger using your net all arond the tank, and really tire him out. Every time you catch him acting up, use the net. I can't guarantee if it will work. did work for my parrots though.
Good luck, 50 dollars ain't bad for fish like that. My brother in law paid 60 for one that's not as good looking as yours.

Well you paid a very good price for that FH!!! I've raised flowerhorns before and still am!!! But I can't really give you a name to identify the type of species, Since there are many. I'd have to say that it's a type of kamfa. Don't ask me which one though. And for have more then one in a tank, it is possible!!! I have a 125 gal (4'x2'x2') at home which housed a 14" and 6" male Golden Emperor FH, A 9" Male pearl blue Dragon FH, a 9" female Red Dragon, with a 15" Megalancistrus, and a 13" regular Pleco. I had them in there for around 8 months without a problem!!! All you need is a lot a hiding places. And well the easiest way to tell if it's a male or female, the male after approx. 2", tends to have a tine little PENIS right before his anal fin.

thats a plumless ZZ. an FH indeed.
flowerhorns are very territorial and would better be kept by his lonesome

As they get older, they pretty much mild; just like some of mine. But when they young, they mean as hell. BTW that is a Golden monkey flowerhorn!! He might be 80-90 all red later as he get older. i had one just like that

One of the sites article I've just read in other sites states that the best flowerhorn for judging a champion Fh is the one with its Flower/black spots, best is with the double flower (upper and mid), electric blue glittering scales, proportionate hmps and fins... hmmm. Your FH looks good though not so good for competiotion... its great for a pet.

Definitely a FH man! Nice.. Separate it so you will have no problems! =)
A way to lesson aggression that supposedly works is to put the FH in a net and put the hood on top of that net.
So that the FH is in the water, yet it's seperate from bothering the other fish. Then when it calms down release it back into the rest of the tank.
I know, I don't get the point of the idea either.
But I say try it out anyway.
Nice FH, I don't really like them (just my opinion), but your's is nice.

Using the extra tanks will solve the problem but not correct it. I think that you should try the net method to see if it works. If it does than you'll be able to get more fish without the fear that your FH will bully the new fish
