i love the look of arowana and have tried to find out the basics needed to keep them and was wondering if anybody could help by letting me know the minimum size tank best kind of filtration and food and what tank mates are good and helpful and if problems may occur because of legality and if the ones form my lfs are good or if i should go the route of obtaining them from a breeder
are feeder fish needed and if so should i set up a breeding project for it and should i do this before i get it or after i get the fish
finally are their any special features that have to be with the tank or special care that must be taken up with the keeping of arowanas

ps. can any body let me know of a website that gives basic info and is reliable as almost all of the sites i have been to contradict each other and this makes me hesitant to take info from them
thanks for all the help

For basic info I use, LiveAquaria.com:

http://liveaquaria.com/product/aquarium-fish-supplies.cfm?c=830+1984

but it says a minimum tank size for a Jar is a 125gal I disagree with that, it should be more like a 180gal.

it can be both simple and complicated with regards to getting an arowana. there are a lot of "basics" threads and write-ups in the net. but i would suggest just reading on our different posts here, you'll learn a lot

your best bet would be to ask a specific question to get an answer.
