I've been sturgeon fishing.. thoes things are EVIL looking.. you are only allowed to spear them here. And that was an albino sturgeon.. Most of them (up here at least) are black.. they live at the bottom of the lake (dont' ask my why their a spear fish then but hey the come to the top once in a while) EVIL lookin fish tho

The "monster" caught by the japanese fishermen is a partially decomposed carcass of either a whale shark or a basking shark. I read it in a book entitled "Monsters of the Deep." The resemblance to a long necked dinosaur is incidental and has something to do with shark cartilage. As for the video, its the first time I've seen that. Pretty interesting...

I haven't seen a sturgeon in a LFS in about 13 years. Have been looking for 1 since. Interesting article though.

Depends on the species and where you are, sterlets, siberians, and stellates are legal in many places and are farm cultured. Here in Oregon Greens are not allowed to be kept but Whites fall under gamefish laws and may be kept between 42" and 72" from the Columbia river and 42"-60" elsewhere, however you may only posses 2.
