Hi .. everyone .. anyone has experienced or seen arapaima mixing with koi fish ? ...... Thanks . in advance ....

yeah! in a lfs. but the koi's size if somthing that wont fit in the gigas mouth.

Koi will be eaten as soon as the aparima can manage it.

I raise two gigas with some kois
they just dont fit in gigas mouth.

That would be an expensive meal. I wouldn't suggest it for too long.

what about the koi at 83 degrees....might be to warm for the koi
if would guess well fed pimas might leave them alone

Yeah, koi are not a tropical fish by any means. And arapaima do best in fairly warm water. I can't see them mixing well.

they just dont fit in gigas mouth.
Just before I said that, today I saw that my two kois were eaten by my biggest gigas, the only that can manage to eat them.
As long as that were enought food, I didn't realize they would eat the kois.
well, at least he ate very well.
lesson to remember, always put biggest kois with gigas
HI .. thank for all the advise .. how big a koi is considered as big ? ... how many inches ? What is the safe size ... that a fish .. can swim with an arapaima ? .. thanks :)

that's difficult to say, the gigas has a large mouth.
that means the fish should be at least twice as bigger than his mouth open. ehehehehehhe
