I shut off my HOB filters so I could do a water change, and while I was chainging the water I figured it would be a good time to scrub out the inside of the tank and get that thin layer of brown algea off the glass. While I was scrubbing I bumped the lower water intake tubes and knocked them off the filters. And when it was time to fill the tank I reattached the tubes and added water as usual. Well, after I refilled the tank and fired up the filters, one of the e400's was making a weird grinding noise. So I took off the lid, no change. Then I wiggled the intake tube and that seemed to change the pitch of the noise. So I unplugged it and pulled the impeller housing to check for any debris that might be caught in there. All I saw was a little slime on the impeller, so I washed it off and as I was putting the impeller back in the housing I saw a little claw in there. I felt bad thinking that my crawfish must have lost a claw and it got sucked in the filter, so I kinda poked at it to see if I could knock it loose, but when I poked it, the claw closed. I flipped the housing over and my dumbass little crawfish had somehow managed to find his way all the way into the impeller housing, and wrapped himself around the flow control. :ROFL: I flipped the housing over and a couple whacks later he dropped into the tank good as new. What a dumbass...
LMAO thats funny as hell. im glad my crays havent been able to climb out of the tank yet.
That is pretty funny. Some fish/inverts like thrill seeking too. I fear the day when fish go bungy jumping.

my rope fish likes to hide in my HOB filter i always have to chase him out of there but he has a new cave now so he hasnt been doing it as much
I had a crawfish in a tank once for my boyfriend, he was a wierd little critter..
That learning impaired crawfish was a fighter.

I lost one once... never found him though.... think he crawled up the intake tube for my power filter, or my canister filter. And to make it better, reason I don't think I ever found him... I believe the cat got him once he climbed out...hahahah
hope I don't ever lose my blue one, but he doesn't seem very interested in climbing around at all...
