I have a 150 gallon tank. I have 7 blood parrots, and a motoro stingray, and MUCH more to come. I want to know if a fluval FX5 is too strong for my 150 gallon tank. Also, is it enough filteration? Will my water be really clean?:)

1) It is not too strong 2) It is enough filtration if you set it up right. It comes loaded with sponges and that's all. It's up to you to decide on what else goes in it.

well what all will be in the tank?

you might want to talk to the ray guys about it being enough filter, not to mention the stocking in the 150. im new to rays and the info ive gotten so far, the 150 isnt really big enough for only the ray. what ive been told so far for filtration with rays is double what manufacture says is adequate.

yes, might also want to get a pair of HOB's aswell.

It's all in the set up and how the tank is stocked! The only negative in using 1 of any filter for a large tank is that there is only one inlet and one outlet! The FX5 does flow alot of water so I would position the outlets to push water and waste towards the inlet!

is the fluval fx5 enogh filteration for my 150 gallon tank? It says about 600 gph i think with media. That would be cleaning about 4 times of my aquarium water per hour.
