where should I get a JD from, a fish store or a breeder? Is their going to be a quality difference? Also will a JD get along with most other Cichlids of equal size? Thanks T

If you can get it from a breeder it should be better. They get along with most fish that are at their same level of aggression

Always better to get from a breeder or a lfs that buys from the local breeders.

I would add that it be a reputable breeder, like Rapps.

breeder...and yes a jd can be housed with other it's size.

From reading this site the last couple months, I've come to believe that Rapps is the ONLY breeder!

The only one I've seen mentioned by name.
Unless I was going to show my fish, or breed for profit, I just can't see spending more on shipping than the fish actually costs.
