Here in hawaii, we take pride in the size of ulua or giant trevally that we can catch. What is your biggest one, or salt water shore fish? Just to answer my question, my biggest was an 87lb white ulua off south point (cliff), using tako as slide bait. tako - octopus.

i know what they are. Bluefin trevally, Giant trevally, WHite trevally, they are cool little jacks. We catch jack crevalle over here their cousin. I have always wanted to catch a giant trevally or GT as people call them. They CRASH topwater plugs.

Ya I cuaght a 50lb one shore casting while camping last summer in Waianae:D

Yeah, topwater plugs work good for ulua and papio catching. I used a bull chop plug at lidgate park and caught a 24lb ulua with my medium stup. Long ass fight! My arm was about to fall off when i finally landed it.

Haven't landed my ulua yet. I hooked one last season free swimming an o'ama (saw it come and take it). Spooled my penn 7500ss after a 20 minute fight. Hopefully now that im using 2 9500ss with 65lb powerpro ill have a better chance.

Yeah, all penns are friggin heavy and bulky. Especially the gold series that my friend uses. Id rather go with my newell or daiwa though. Graphite kicks ass.

Very small for an ulua but I 3 pronged a 12 lb omilu couple weeks ago by Kahala.

Entered the tournament,didnt catch jack.., but the biggest landed was I think 123 pounds.
