Would this work getting a bucket full of pot scrubbers and a pump to make a filter?

i have a pump with a prefilter that goes to a bucket full of lavarock with holes in the bottom.. it keeps my 100 gal pond pretty clear :D

that could work but was think of drilling a hole big enough for the tube siliconing it in place and then letting the bucket over flow to create the efect of a water fall.

heres mine... its not clear in the pic but i changed around some stuff in the filter and its clear now..
