My new salt water is cycled completely and has a tendency of keeping the pH at 7.8-8 i want it to be at 8.4 or 8.4 without chemicals. its a 55 gal with 50 lbs of crush coral gravel. the bag said stops chronic pH problems. Should i add 10 more lbs or what? theres 3 damsels in there now with a porcupine puffer arriving around next Friday

whats a good squirrelfish for a 55 that will move to a 125, along with a porcupine puffer and spiny box puffer

How much flow is actually going thru the substrate? Crushed coral just sitting there vs crushed coral that is in current will have very different effects on the pH.
Adding more could help, but not if it is just going to sit on the bottom. There needs to be some motion contact with it. An undergravel filter would work well for doing that.
What filter are you using? If it's a canister of some type, add a small bag to it so water flows over it. There are many ways to get water moving across the coral for contact time.

Adding calcium (to a point) will also increase the pH if need be.

I can add some in the empty basket part of my filter
