Alright ladies and gentlemen, lets start talking about the Northwest MFK meet of 2008. When will it be, where will it be, who will be there, what will we do? Feedback is needed. I'd like to aim for october for the meet. Li may be adding something into this meet... hopefully. :D

Maybe I can bring a fish skeleton to raffle off and help me pay for my gas there and back? lol, maybe several to help fund the Montana Tropical Catfish Fund? Anyhow, I'll try my best to be there. We got to try and get Ted, since the southern guys got Johnptc!!! If anyone is looking to get rid of any catfish I'll be there. I know my dad lives in Polson right next to Flathead Lake and we hunt outside of Great Falls and it usually takes us 3 to 4 ours to get there depending on how lead footed we want to be..:D

mapquest says 201 miles or roughly 3 hours, and I think it's probably only an hour out of the way depending on your route from yellowstone to swan lake. Let me know if you wanna swing by and I'll let you handfeed some of my big cats. You'll get to see all my ghetto setups and my tanks in progress.

There's Clear Fabrications Inc (worldclassaquariums.com) in North Bend. They specialize building tanks for reefers (see reeffrontiers.com and PSAS), but they'll build a tank for anyone. I don't know if they give tours though.

I'd love to learn about rays. Something I need to try sometime.

I don't know of fishing areas up north, just around the Enumclaw area. Flaming Geyser park is nice, and I know all the pools.

The fish room is pretty tight, but you all can come check it out. Just had histrix pups today, now I have 32 rays. Who knows how many I'll have when my red ray gives birth. Someone suggested I do a raffle for a baby hybrid ray too. Maybe we can do that.

oh, I just wanted to remind everyone that I do the Fish Skeletons thing. Here's a link to a thread I posted before. If anyone has a fish they'd like to donate, or a fish they'd like to have me do this would be the time to bring it and not have to ship it. I need to talk to ted. He told me a while back that he had some huge catfish that I could have.

The thread will give you a rough idea about what I am talking about, so if you want something done that you have sitting in your freezer just bring it along. Just be advised that you will be put on a waiting list as it's first come first serve. I'm the only one doing this so it's difficult to do more than about 4 orders at a time. I garuntee quality work.

As a reminder also this would be a good time to get rid of large fish that you can no longer house. I know no one here buys a fish with intentions of getting rid of it, but if you have a fish that has outgrown it's tank or will outgrow it's tank, and you don't have the means to buy, or build a larger tank you should bring it along. I will be bringing some coolers and portable air pumps with me just in case. I might also bring a Skull to raffle as well.

Sorry, I was definitely at the symposium!!!!!!!!! August 31st is cool for me. It would have to be in the afternoon at about 2:30. The fish room is small but I do have room for about 12-15 cars in my driveway and on the street, so parking is very easy. What else are we going to do after the fish room tour??? We could go to some fish stores for those who are coming from far far away. I frequent them so often that is kinda same old, same old but I'm always up for a look of what they have down in China Town.

I am seriously tossing around the idea of a raffle for a ray, but not sure what the interest would be. I wouldn't want the tickets to be too expensive. like maybe 25.00 at the most for each ticket, but I'd need at least 8 people confirmed to break even for one of the hybrid pups.

I'm going to raffle off the male hybrid histrix/motoro pup with the shorter tail. He has the cooler pattern of the two. Tickets are 25.00. Bring the money to the meet, or if you can't make it and still want in, PM me. I'll make sure my oxygen tank is filled incase you live far away and win the little guy. He is eating black worms and cut up pieces of shrimp. After the visit to the ray room, not sure what the consensus is, but we can BBQ or go out to eat somewhere, or LFS hopping. Maybe someone can organize that part of the meet. I have a bbq and a rather small yard, so not sure how that would work. And it is Seattle so it may rain. Give your T-shirt sizes to Wyldfya and get a free MFK shirt. (Thanks Li!!!!)

So far there will be 11 of us. Dmopar, problemz, blackghostknifelover, rob317, N.C., jphillip2020, modestman, blurock, synrgst, wyldfya and ME! There is still room for the raffle. Only 25.00 a ticket. Here is a picture of the ray I'll be raffling. Still room for whoever wants to come hang with us too. We'll meet at my house at 2:30 then we'll go to chinatown and check out some fish stores, then hopefully if I can confirm with Todd, we'll go see his rays too.

yeah, He is a good looking little ray. The raffle will go on. Someone offered to by the 3 remaining tickets last minute, if no one else wants them, so the raffle will be on for sure.

Well, not a huge showing today, but we had fun hanging out in the ray room and going down to Chinatown to the fish stores. We even got a sneak peak of a new one that will open soon. Oh, and the raffle. Congratulations to Rob317!!!!!!!!!!!!! he was the winner of the stingray raffle. Thanks to Neoprodigy and Wyldfya for hooking us up with MFK stickers and post cards.

Cuz if it is august.. my family is thinking of visiting Seattle and the British Columbia area.. so i could be in two MFK meets this year.. The one up north and my home town in LA.!
