I'm just a bit curious as to the reason why postings, including mine, were deleted from the live mouse feeding video thread... the reason given was "off topic". how are comments about live feeding videos off topic? is this not a discussion forum? all of the comments in the thread were related to live feeding videos, obviously everyone has their own views on this issue, but i really don't understand why the comments were deleted, there were no insults or offensive comments and i thought i did a pretty good job of explaining the reasons why many frown upon those types of videos. if people don't want to hear opposing viewpoints, they shouldn't post things on an internet discussion forum.

the piranha forum gets hardly any traffic as it is, and i for one don't like spending time creating a post that will help educate people on a certain subject only to have it deleted for no reason.

It was a presentation of P feeding behavior. Not the opening of a debate on filming/viewing such videos. Start an ethics discussion thread of your own to debate such a topic.

BTW, I wouldn't even have noticed that thread had the staff not received complaints via the 'report post' function.

/agree

EDIT: with the OP

To the mod: People viewing that video will think it's healthy and safe for Ps to be fed live mice. It isn't.

Again, that's a debate that should be carried on an it's own thread. Not in this thread. It''s off-topic here.

so anytime that someone doesn't agree with a practice presented in a thread, they are supposed to create their own thread rather than posting in one where it would be relevent? i really don't see the rationalization behind this, if someone posts something that is seen as unethical by serious hobbyists, i think the responsible thing to do is bring it to their attention and explain the reasons why it is generally not an accepted practice.

Again, posting a "look at this" type of thread and posting a "what do you think of this" thread are 2 different things.

By all means, voice your opinion. But, if it derails or goes off-topic of the OP's intentions, then start your own thread. They're free BTW.
