Just wondering what would be better/easier to breed for feeders, guppies or danios?

If danios are zebras the easiest?

Thanks for the help

I think Guppies are way easy. Never tried Danios though.

guppys are definitely the easier, for one cause guppys are live bearers and danios are group spawners, anyone can breed guppys, i would suggest thats what you went with if your looking for something (low maintenance). If you were to set up a 10 gallon with like 5 males and 7 females, you would be set.

guppies are by far easier, they need no specific conditions

Dont buy some of the ugly ones that have heaps of random colours though as they sort of look ugly but thats just my opinion

Well I'm not too worried about looks because as long as they move they'll get eaten anyway regardless of colour.

Guppies by far.

Also, try to do about 2 to 3 females per male, any less and the females get stressed out. Stressed out females = less (or no) babies.

I did do little bit of guppy breeding and it was very easy. And I agree with rmorse have heaps of females for the males to chase otherwise they can get stressed out and can die of exhaustion.

Just thought I'd update a little. I had a small tank I was using as a breeding tank but didn't manage to have any sucess keeping the males alive. But I think the females got pregnant though so just a waiting game now.
I've heard those breeder box things are a waste of money. Does anyone know of a diy thing that works better? I heard that a ball of yarn works really well. I would get plants but I don't have the lighting requirments to keep them alive. And I managed to aquire a 33gal full set-up including everything for 100 bucks so I think I'll upgrade that to my breeding tank then use my small tank as one to raise the babies in.

But ya any help with the baby catcher would be great thanks.

guppies are easier but if you have a good experience in breeding, you can make hundreds of danios quickly.
Else, there's a fish called white cloud mountain minnow. They breed easily and are good feeder fish.

So get plastic plants, lots of them. The babies usually stay near the surface so its easy to skim them off with the net.

Zebra D's from my experience are too much of a chase for lazy fish. Guppies are an easy kill. Just depends on what your fish likes

Im sorry I was quick to post. I did not read the part about breeding them for feeders. Guppies are easier to breed, Just purchase the breeding mop if you have a separate tank to breed them in

For my needle fish even Zebra's only last about 1.5-2 secs. It's rather ridiculous how fast he gets the first one down then he'll try for a second but usually lets it go wounded because he can't swallow it cus he's too full from the first. Then he'll eat about two a day till the rest are gone.
