Size is 30 x 5 x 4 it will hold 40" of water. Construction is 2x4's every 12" with double 2x4 bottom and top header. We will brace the top with stainless steel cable and form a flange along the top with a 2x8 to keep rays in. Sorry didn't take pictures while was under construction yesterday. Liner will be here Monday and should be up and running by next weekend. Installing two 1/2hp 10000 GPH pumps for this tank. One day to construct wood shell, and another 1-2 days to plumb and install liner and piping. Total cost around 2000material and labor was free thanks guys much appreciated the help. Around 3700 gallons and not big enough.

VERY interested to see the filtration part.........
It will just be plugged into my existing system all I need to do is make connections to drain line and return line you see in the pictures of piping on concrete floor.

Only 2g's for EVERYTHING?!?!?! Wow, you are quite the frugal shopper, or you have some awesome connections. Those pumps sound expensive. Top job sir.
Very nice!
How many rays will go in?

I was about to pick your brain...hahaha Still a great value!
Wow that is pretty amazing.. What happened to the huge huge acrylic tank?
So much for walking space, eh?

Huge acrylic tank was not big enoung and sold to a customer, Yeah walking space is tight as hell but hey it's the price you pay to GO BIG. We will soon remove the 210's and 180's in the center row and build another 20 x 7 x 4 wood pond there using the existing pond wall on that side.

Looks nice, but why so high? Putting a 2' high one on the table would be my plan if it is just for rays.

Due to my existing sump setup I must have a minimum height of 36" for my water line in order to properly drain so figured another 12" to keep rays and other fish from jumping, Plus 2x4's are 8ft high so might as well cut them in half and have no scrap.

Are you going to insulate the sides?
No just the bottom is insulated with 2" of styrofoam betwen the concrete and liner. The walls will not be insulated.

Liner arrives tomorrow I will get full shots of bulkhead install and silicone work. This tank is much needed for us to free up some space and start keeping single species only ponds.

very nice tank, i never see people build tank with wood frame, can it hold the water pressure? how long is the life time for this kind of tank? need to learn this.
wow... 20 x 7 x 4..... that will be nice and big tank. looks like i am not the only crazy ray nut here. hahaha..... I am building few 20 x 10 x 3.5. we have about the same idea on tank size, how many adult ray do you think we can keep in this tank size? considering the filtration is not an issue.
keep up the monster work....... give you a big salute......;-)

Best part about this large tank is there able to open swim in the tank or swim in the mid level water and not always on the bottom. They swim the whole length and are much more active in a larger tank.
