no real difference other than a slight increase in size. any tips on bringing out color and growth?

lots of cichlid pellets have a red colour enhancement in them i like hikari personally although its expensive. also shrimp are supposed to be good for the red. the very reason why flamingoes are so vibrant and bright pink if i remember correctly.

nice one bro! try using cyclope.. its good color enhancer plus high in protein, your FH seems to be quite thin.. try pumping him ;)

You can use Amazone, Hai Feng, Hikari Bio Gold, Cyclop, The new Hikari Cichild Gold (has garlic and astaxanthin). I pumped my FH with it and it has done well color and size wise. The best thing to do is vary its diet. Avoid feeders because of the chance of disease.

That FH has got some good potential. What i do to get them big fast is putting alot of current in the water with a good powerhead. This will make them swim alot and be hungry. Feed alot, pelllets and earthworms and do as many water changes as possible.

as the others have said...for fast growth the best thing is plenty of water changes and a varied diet. anything high in astaxanthin will bring out the reds in a fish. krill, shrimp and many "color enhancing" pellets will do this. you can also buy astaxanthin powder from www.kensfish.com to mix in with your pellets to bring out the colors even more. freeze dried krill superba is very high in astaxanthin as well as protein and will help with both growth and color.

good looking FH you got there, lots of potential. i stick with the asian brand FH foods, have no idea what there called its in chinese, but there made with FH in mind. i also mix it up with krill, hikari bio-gold, and worms.

Looks good. Although it does look funny in the large tank on its own but it wont be long untill it 'grows in' :D

yea i know i didnt know the tadpoles were cane toad tadpoles though. i did some reserch and thier slime is poisonous and when i picked up the tadpole, i had dry hands and i think i wiped off most of the slime. if it lives through the night i think it will be fine.

To small atm to tell what well happen. Almost looks like a trimac to me. Dealers have been known to sell small trimacs as flowerhorns to make money.

a trimac that size would look quite different than his fish. it wouldn't have the pearling nor would a trimac that size have near that much pink/red color. :)
