You think Festae are tough? They ain't got nothing on Grammodes. My 7" female Festae never got along with my little 4" female Grammy but I never thought it would come to this. They got in a scrap and the little grammy tore her up bad. I separated them but it was too late, the damage was already done. I've been treating her wounds for about a week now but they were still getting infected and she passed this morning. :(:( I got her from Rapps and raised her from a little 1.5" fry.

Ouch. Sorry seems so inadequate ... she was deffinately one of, if not the, prettiest female festae I've seen.
And yeah, festae might be the the top, or perhaps second behind the umbie, south american cichlid ... too many centrals are above them I personally believe ...

Thanks you guys. Sorry it took me so long to get back. I just didn't feel like re-visiting this thread until now. Here's a last photo post remember her by. These are the only pics I have of her after almost 2 years without using the flash. I took the lightstrips off another tank and put them all on her tank to show her color.
I'll miss her.

My condolences for your loss. I know what it's like to lose a prized fish. I lost my big male jag a couple of weeks ago. Still, your festae is the most beautiful female I've ever seen. Your festae is what made me want to have one in my community tank. So thank you for sharing and inspiring me. Again, I'm sorry for your loss and I can empathize.

Thanks TF. Thats really cool of you to say and makes me feel a little better. I have 3 of her offspring only 2-3" that I hopefully will produce a new female.
Sorry to hear bro, she was gorgeous.
Thanks Bro.

I just got a 5" Jardini. Wait until it grows a little and we'll see how tough she is lol j/k.
Here's the culprit with her "I'm pissed" attitude. I went to feed the fish this morning and I REALLY missed my Festaes happy face greeting me.
