No consequences that I've found so far. Just be sure to clean them of well and they should be fine . Bleach really isn't needed to clean then unless you'd just feel better using it to wash the stone , but it will likely soak into the sand stone though and be harder to remove. I just give the rock a good scrub with water and stiff brush in water rinse and put them in the tank. Done it that way for 18 years now and haven't had any problems yet.

The cons in the area canal breed non stop in SUPER high ph but in your case since domestic bred cons.
Wouldnt lime stone bring the PH up to fast and very high, maybe harmfull ?
(bad pic but its Con breeding areas)

s.e Minnesota ph is already 8.4 so it should not go to high I was more concerned about parasites. thanks for all your input

ive never done anything but use water to wash my rocks and have never had a problem either
I've always boiled my rocks for about 15 min at a rolling boil
