I have an 18" teugelsi in QT tank right now

I'd like to get an input on how they are with smaller tankmates. Their body is not as "beefy" as Endli for example.

Best analogy I can do would be, I'd be more afraid of a 8" endli eating a smaller tankmates than a 12" delhezi.

Possible tankmates would be:

I am not worry about the following;

14" Endlis
13" Lapradei
13" Ornate

I am worry about the following;

10" Weeksii (his head is just as big as the teugelsi , if that helps)
12" Delhezi (only because the del have a slimmer body)

Any input ?

thanks

stan

Lucky you got a 18" teugelsi, that's one very decent size of a teugelsi. Anyway, I currently I have my 17" teugelsi with my lower jaw type bichirs (10~12"), and there's no problem so far (been there since last winter).

I would think you will be fine, I have an 18" and a 16" teugelsi and they leave my 8" polli alone, that polli is still fairly thin, his head is small enough to fit in the teugs mouth, they've been togethor for a couple few months now.

should be fine, just watch out for atypical polypterus conspecific aggression/territory issues

The only thing that needs to fear my 17" Teug is a Hikari Massivore pellet. He doesn't bother anyone.
