i'm having a little bit of trouble curing something my fish have gotten. i do my water changes like i'm supposed to and i definetly make sure they don't get over fed but they came down with "cloudy eye". they are 2 oscars. i tried treating it with a fungal treatment but it didn't seem to do anything but make my fish sulk. now i'm trying melafix. it's not doing such a hot job either. HELP!!!:(

i'm just starting out and i'm moving them soon to a 125 gallon tank, they are still really small.. not even a few months old so for now they are in a 30 gallon until my other tank gets here. nitrite, nitrate, ammonia and ph all tested fine and i make sure to change the water every 4 days or so. they don't have any growths on any parts of their bodies. just eyes

raise the aquarium's temperature a few degrees - slightly higher than usual. Adding (Magnesium sulfate) to the water (at a rate of 20 mg/L) helps to encourage the fish to expel unnecessary damaging fluids. might be "Popeye".

I hate cloudy eye. One of my pbass is blind from it. Melafix kept him from dying like other fish in the past that have gotten CE.
I'm going to pick some melafix up today because one of my monos is showing similar symptoms. It only happens when I switch them to diff. tanks.

magnesium sulfate... i'll give it a try i'm willing to accept and appreciate any advice at this point. can it be picked up at any pet shop? and yes melafix seems to only help with the sulking, not the actual problem. :irked:

should i still use the melafix or change the water before putting the magnesium sulfate in?

use the salt first.
but they came down with "cloudy eye".
A large water change (or two) has always done the trick for me. Clears the cloudy eyes right up.
