Hey guys, this is the first time i have had any type of pets breed and well its my guppies lol. Today one of the "mommy" guppies had 3 babies, im sure the rest are coming later. For these lucky three i took them away from the mother so she wouldn't eat them. But im jsut wondering what the parameters should be for them? I took the water from my current tank and put it in a little goldfish bowl and thats where im keeping the current baby guppies.vBut im jsut wondering what i should keep them like, what i should feed them, what water temp/ parameters the water should be, if they need special care, etc...
Any help is appreciated thanks :D

Just keep the babies in the tank and feed then finely crushed food. You shouldn't have separated the guppies just put them back into the main tank. I don't know why everyone says they eat there babies but it's not true I've had guppie babies and not a single one was ever attacked by the mother or other guppies.

I had my first fish breed too and they were guppies, but after the first batch they just keep on coming and you'll get bored. Personally if you don't want them to breed further remove the males from the females now as females can hold sperm for six months. My was probably up to 40 fry over a few months even after I removed the males and eventually gave them back to the store.

I have seen guppies eat their own babies. If you keep the adults well fed, this increases the fry's chances of survival.

I put the babies in the main tank in a net breeder. This helps them get food for their first few days, as they will be a little weak. Once I see they are going to top for food without trouble, I move them to a fry tank. But, in your case, you can keep them in the net breeder until they are big enough to hold their own.

I agree. The best thing for them is to be in their original tank. Use a divider or a breeders box or net. That way you can still have the use of your filters. The fry will get eaten by grown guppies so if you decide to not keep them separated from the grown guppies, at least use sometype of plant that floats for the fry to hide. Also, just feed the fry crushed flakes or whatever you're feeding the adult guppies. Another bit of advice. If you want your guppies to breed quickly, keep the water clean and feed the guppies live food. That's what I've been told and it worked for me. Congratulations and good luck, The Doctor.
