Is there such a thing as a BLACK BICHIR. I saw a weeksi today that was completely BLACK. It was black like a Venom Spiderman!

A number of species exhibit dramatic color changes. I have a delhezi that appears black under normal light and displays a classic pattern under a camera flash. Could also be that you stumbled onto a melanistic color morph. Whatever the case, it may be worth getting it and hope you have something new after it settles down and displays it's relaxed coloration.

I might be interested upon seeing a pic. But, unless they ship, it's a bit too much of a drive to Irvine, CA from NE Louisiana.

where did you see this dark weeksii? weeksii are usually have a dark dorsale pattern/color anyways, but if you're saying it was black black I want to see this!
If it had a white/cream colored belly then it's not melanistic, probably just being affected by stress.

Yes, it was BLACK BLACK! I was like WHOA too much like a snake. Nah, it was not stress. I think that was the color.
