My First Datnoid

Hi all,

This is my first Dat. Just got it last night. It was advertised as a 6"er. I was surprised when I saw it. It's HUGE :boomersub: more like 12"er.
I think it's a Datnoid microlepis. The stripes on both sides are even & neat, eight on each side. But they're not solid black.

I quarantine it in a 48Lx20Hx18D at the moment. You can see how BIG it is.
The eyes look cloudy to me, don't you think?

Hi,
Nice dat def a microlepis. When i picked up my large dats they had cloudy eyes but i think that is due to transport etc, it will clear up shortly.
I don't think he will fit into the pipe though.... :ROFL:

Hi guys,

I've moved the dat into a 6fter. It shows much better color.

But I think it's blind. When I feed it, it doesn't look at the food. It kinda sniff around and when the food is very close then it snaps. Is this normal? :confused:
