try to get those live whole sea prawn used for fishing to feed. A live sea prawn can still survive in freshwater for up to 2 hours b4 it dies.remember to break the spike on the head b4 throwing it in,they wont die so easily.they love those.but are expensive.

Mine eat everything. QWonderworms, crickets, mussels, FW fish fillets, raw chicken cubes ( once per 2 weeks ), shrimp...
but, earnestly, I decided to go the extra lenght and force them on to pellets....it is starting to work...

That is what I am trying to do......pellets are the best well rounded food for arowana....at least some of the better ones.

My Arowana is not a picky eater. It will eat anything that can fit in its mouth. There are so many things that I fed my beast such as krill, silverside, feeder, pellet, mealworm, cricket, and so on.

Man, are you lucky. My aro is a picky eater. He will reluctantly eat shrimp, but if I feed him super worms (which he loves) he refuses to eat shrimp again for a few days. I can gut load the worms but I'd rather try to get him to eat a variety of foods.
Since I feed my rays shrimp, there is no point in trying to get the aro to eat pellets as he'll just grab the shrimp when I feed the rays. Sometimes I soak the shrimp overnight in liquid vitamins (azoo).

Azoo is a chinese brand Mistire...I do not like it, although others vouch for it.
Try to see if you can get hold of the german JBL Aro pellets ( NeoDragon they're called )

AZOO I am not familiar with this....I think I heard about it...please inform me more about where to buy, what it contains, and positive things about the product as well as negatives. Thanks! ;)Azoo Arowana Vitamins is a liquid that contains various B vitamins as well as A, D, E and beta glucin for aros (according to the label). It is meant to be added to the water but I use it to enrich market prawn by soaking it overnight. Hopefull, I am not overdosing them! I do this for one feeding out of six. I purchased a one gallon jug of it off of ebay for $100 Canadian including shipping. It seems to have enhanced the color of my aro and other fish but maybe they are just getting more mature. Who knows?
It hasn't hurt the fish so I guess I'll keep using it. My lfs also adds vitamins to his water but I forget what brand.

Try to see if you can get hold of the german JBL Aro pellets ( NeoDragon they're called )I will see....it will probably be something I must order off the internet.....hawaii is limited when it comes to options and my LFS is the only one unless you drive 2 hours to the other side of the island. They are opening a Petco here! :headbang2:nilly::popcorn::D

Cool. I always wondered if anyone ever released aros in Hawaii. I mean, look at what happened with releases in Lake Wilson. I would never do it, but I'd love to see pictures.
I fed my aro crickets, market prawns, and the occasional hunk of tuna.
