can i raise 2-4 inch black piranha in a 20 gallon tank till hes a little bigger. i've been trying to find out what this this whole thing about 1inch fish to one gallon of waters all about. at some point i'd get a 125 gal tank but from this it's almost nuts. by the way hello, thankyou

you could keep him in there till he's 6"... what specie is it? redbelly will hit 6" in 3-4 months, serrasalmus could take a couple years

redbellies get around 10", they can get 8" in about 2 years.
i think you'd find fishkeeping alot more pleasurable if you looked into cichlids. more people than not complain about their piranhas being too shy and cowardly.
