I finally gave in to the YouTube thing and made a video of Beaker, my Fahaka, having his Friday treat - three red claw crabs.
If you're impatient (or just pressed for time) and just want to see him eat, check out 0:24, 0:54 and 2:24. If you've got 3:18 to spare, love puffers and enjoy listening to a little Duke Ellington, by all means check the whole thing out!
BTW - My favorite part by far is the third crab - taken down in typical Beaker style. :lol2:

wow..love how clean and big the tank is...what size is it?? dimensions?? BEAKER looks Awesome...It's a 135G - 72x18x24. Here's a full tank shot from several years ago when I had just filled it with water for the first time to give you an idea of its size - 135G - Feb 2005 (http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s168/SonsOfLeda/Forums/135G.jpg). Back then I had an overflow system with a wet/dry and a couple of AC500s on it. It went on to a pretty sweet Amazon river theme with tons of cardinals, other misc tetras, some cories and a few Apistogramma to round it out.
I changed it up when I moved into my current place and it's been set up with Beaker in it this way for ~7 months now. It's being filtered by 2x Eheim 2028s and 1x Eheim 2229. I'll get updated full tank shots later on when it's not quite so late/early.

Beaker is awesomeI definitely wanted to zoom more, but without being in control of the camera (see my DIY tripod? :grinno:) I wanted to make sure I got all of the action. Sometimes he waits to hit the crabs when they land on the ground and sometimes he hits them right when they hit the water. Later on I'll prep him for his close-ups so you can see him a bit better. ;)
nice !! nice setup too
At 2:15....Nom, nom, nom, nommmmm. Nice looking setup, very clean and maintainable and a very healthy fish. I give it two claws up.Thanks! I'm probably way too anal with my aquascaping (think golden triangles, biotope specific, etc), but I pretty much wouldn't have it any other way. It's a little tougher to pull off with fake plants/driftwood, but I like to think I did a pretty good job here. Plus, it's very easy to maneuver around in when I'm vacuuming and doing water changes - a definite bonus.
That's one nice fahaka you have there.Beaker would definitely agree with you - the arrogant little bugger he is. He's grown up quite a bit since I got him back in February and he's by far my favorite fish ever.
