my lfs always has eye biters in.i would love to get a male but i really need a bigger tank.my tank is only 48 inches x 18 inches x 15 inches.i have

I have had some females that get just as big as the male. I find that it just takes a lot longer for them to get that size than it would a male. Your right though about your tank being to small for a male. I have trouble keeping males and females together even in big tanks. My particular male is really agressive towards females for some reason.
