well after loosing my 11" royal a couple of weeks ago I had basically given up on these guys, but after running into this 14" monster that needed a better home I snatched him for $50.00. Hopfully I have better luck with this one than I did the last 2.

if you ever see a royal clown for 7$ you better snatch it.. they are a little more pricey. thanks for the compliment on the fish

Just out of curiosity...what happened with the other Knives?

They might be. I think they get a spot on there side for every year they have lived or soemthing like that. I'm not sure but a frined of mine knows exactly what they are. And when i find out I'll let you know. Do you want one???

honestly I wish I could tell ya. both did the same thing, didn't eat one night after feeding every night for months and the next day they were spinning circles. a week later dead. All I know is I am not adding anything to my water except water. I found out my city water has no chlorine added to it so I am not even going to add prime unless I have to for some unknown reason. I had a flase reading of a slight bit of ammonia and added amquel and thats when it all started. Its a mystery to me

actually they start with stripes and if they are regular clowns there stripes turn into spots. also the one spot a year thing is a myth. some clowns can have a bunch of spots and others the same age and size will have only a few. they will gain spots but not with age. more with growth.. and thanks for the offer but i hope I don't need another one :)

Yeah i hear you there. We have had two die on us already. The first one we had, the first night we got him we woke up the next morning and the tankhad sprung a leak fromthe inside and drained while we were sleeping. It was copletely dry when we woke up the next day. We lost alot of fish that day. And I cried.

thanks. other than my aro making him a recluse by attacking him everytime he comes out, he is doing well. eating frozen foods great and healing. now if I can get my aro to leave him alone things will be peachy

Nice royal!
I got my 8" royal here for 300 pesos (about $5) now he's 13" and growing, Knifefishes here are cheap, you can have an 18" Clown Knife for 800 pesos (about $14). If I could only keep an 18 incher in my small tank..

here in colorado we don't see them very often. $50.00 for a 15" royal is a pretty good deal. not a steal but a good price.
