I bought this one as a Intermedia with my other one, but I'm pretty sure its not. I was told it might be a Xingu Mirianae. What do you guys think??

the first pic, the front guy is not an intermedia, but unless he's an ocellaris that is just not showing his colors i don't know what he is, the guy in the back looks like a mono, but it's a bad angle.. could be ocellaris too.
i have seen my Dozer look gold with his bars faded like that from time to time, but not since he became the top dawg in the tank with the big tems.

Looks like all the otehr Suspe3cted intermedia hangin around.. I can see the Mid line from behind the gill plates to the tail... As well as at least 5 bars one smaller than the rest... And the specals look to match as well.. Just really washed as stated above...

I don't think it's an Intermedia but of course I could be wrong. When I saw it in person and from pictures you posted the colors and stripe pattern just differs? Now with the other one gone has it's colors and stripe pattern changed?
Could be either of the two noted below.
Cichla intermedia "Orinoco"
or
Cichla intermedia "Ventuari"

looks like a sub dominant intermedia to me... xingus are a bit diff and have a diff shape.. youll deff be able to tell the differance when it gets larger but right now i would say that is deff an intermedia

that looks like a river behind him.. maybe the xingu river? i always thought xingus have more of a duck bill looking face but personally after doing some quick research i am thinking xingu and intermedias are basically the same

Yours reminds me of this..
http://www.worlddiscus.com/cichla/Xingu.html
"C. melaniae seems to prefer habitats in the rocks where there is strong current velocity. Interestingly, this is also the preferred habitat of C. intermedia"
Possibility when they were catching Intermedias this got caught in the net =-)
