Ok, with much research, and reading through about 30 pages of these forums :screwy: ...

I think im getting an Eheim Pro 2 2026....

This is going to be on a 55 gallon planted community tank.

Anyone have any comments/suggestions? Too big, too small, good choice?

Thanks everyone

HA...

He is the guy that i have been bugging for the last week for information...

But i think he has a point, i have yet to find more than one random post about a problem with these filters. The closest comparable (from what people tell me) is that magnum 350, but where i live, they are the same price?!

Any other comments?

I have an Eheim pro 2028 and it has worked flawlessly for the past 5 years I've had it. Can't go wrong with an Eheim. I have it on a 50 gallon tank. I also have a Fluval 404 in the same tank and it works ok but I like the Eheim better.

I have a Fluval 305 on my 45g hex and a Fluval 404 on my 55g and both tanks have really never looked better. The 45g had an emperor 280 on it, but it crapped out. The 55g had an emperor 400 on it, but after replacing the 45g filter, and it looked even better, I decided to upgrade the 400. Have only had each filter for about a month, but so far so good.

Isnt the 2028 rated for 175 gallons? And if so, why do you have two canisters on the same tank? :werd:

go to petsmart.com magnum 350 pro system is like 90 or 100 bucks and they are simple to clean cheap to run and you can find their filter sleeves cheap on ebay but first search for online coupons most likely you can get free shipping and sometimes better deals the net rules go to a pet smart store and you will pay$130 for the same filter

if the magnum and the eheim are both the same price you gotta get the eheim magnum really doesn't compare

Eheims are good filters. I ran a 2028 on a 30g for several years, and was always very happy with it. (Only reason I got rid of it is because I turned that 30g FW to SW...)
