I should have my 375 gallon tank set up in a couple weeks and I need some proffesional input from you people on a skimmer for this tank. Does someone on here have one for this size of tank or which one is good for a fish only tank as there are many brands out?

well for something that large i really only know of two good brands and would only recommend these two as well. If you intend to keep large predatory fish, then a decent sized and efficient skimmer wouldn't be a half bad idea. Id get either a euro reef or a deltec. Both of these brands are rather pricey but will give you the best results on such a large volume of water. will the placement be in sump or external?? If external id plumb separately with designated piping that would either lead back to sump, or back into tank, with the help of a in line pump.

I would probably do it external since I dont think there is room for that large of one in there, but there is plumbing on the sump just for a skimmer and a uv also. I bought it off of ebay used of course, its 18 x18x48. I hope a used one will show up

i hate to burst your bubble, but those dimensions only make your tank a 68 gallon?? did you mean size of sump, or size of tank??

yea, it does say sump on the 2nd line but any way I am doing a little research on line and am finding out that those brands are very expensive. Maybe a good used one will surface

i told you they were costly lol..... There good skimmers though. an ASM G4+ will do around a 400 gallon tank, but thats about 500 bucks too. So with that said, id still spend to dollars and get a deltec. Those you know you can plumb seperatly.
