One of my clown loaches is starting to get kiind of a geyish shade to his color. Is this normal

A gray Clown Loach? NO! That is not normal!!!
Yes, it is normal. Color intensity varies depending on mood. They'll be paler if the alpha fights it out with another for dominance. Skirmishes can last for even as long as an hour. I've observed this happen for 30-45 minutes three times.
