yup it's a lombardi male, I have one that is blue, but I think it's a male because its digging nests

It also shouldn't be kept in an american setup (firemouths I can see in the background). Dietary and water needs are completely different.
I live in hawaii and fish are hard to come by here. I have the firemouths in to keep the aggression down - my peacocks were getting very aggressive, so I needed to crowd the tank a little. The firemouths weren't my first choice - but it was alll I could get at the time - they'll go in a different tank later. They have helped mellow things out in the tank.
you can mix fish, most of em are tank raised anyway.

No...find a nice blue one that you like and watch it get killed. You'd need at least 3 or 4 females for that male, or else he's just going to pick them off.
