View Full Version : I've saved my Thinbars!

Thats right,my two gorgeous thinbars started that bellowing of the gills thing that some of us have put up with,about a week after I got them.I first tried the Aquarasol with its vague instructions but after three days and more rapid gill movement,I drained all but enough water for them to sit up straight,put in fresh water and then I added Mardel coppersafe.In just two days I noticed that the gills were hardly pumping,they have been in this water for a week now and look normal and they are eating freezedried shrimp and look ready to return to the main tank.

Thats good to hear. I'm surprised that you switched to coppersafe as both meds you used is copper sulfate. Big water changes really help to remove free floaters while the meds remove the rest. Post some pics of your guys.

I dont know if both brands have different levels per dose but the Aquarasol is supposed to be mild which is why I went with that first and then seeing that their condition was worsening I pulled the plug on it.I will get pictures up soon.

Thats the same med I used to save my thinbar a few months ago..
Good save.
My new Ntt's are doing good so far...I treated them in qt with that new med that Al uses for like 1 week b4 adding them to the big tank...Hope it worked...So far so good..

I know,I remember you mentioning Mardel and your success with it so I chose it. Thanks again Boggy,maybe there should be a sticky or announcement of some sort advise to advise all future NTTbuyers to qt.and treat them for parasites from the door. Just think of all of the thinbars that were lost that could have been saved soo easily.
