well varying his diet spoiled him, i got a good two weeks of feeding him 80% pellets and 20 percent shrimp, beefheart, peas, and other foods. Now he just spits the pellets out, i guess starve him for today and try tomorrow?
also, do you guys use the floating feeding stations that keep all the pellets in one place?

Good luck mine went a week without food. Offered pellets every other day for a week never saw it eat one. Only likes Krill or beefheart.

Just dont offer food for the coming 5 days/week.
He'll be back on them after that. He's just trying to out smart you.
Your not going to let a fish out smart you are you? ARE YOU!!??

lol it would be hard to starve the guy when he just looks at you with those pleading eyes every time you walk by the tank... wiggling his tail furiously. i could maybe hold out a day or two.. but cave in after that.
Floating feed stations? Your O doesn't need a trough lol. I just drop food in front of my GT, or use sinking pellets so he doesn't miss any.

i use one of those feeding rings, everyone eats nice out of it, until my flowerhorn rams his head into and spills the pellets everywhere..little Blankety blank blank that he is.. my guys eat 3 or 4 times a day, frozen food at least one of those feedings,, luckily my pigs arent picky, and eat everytime.. starve him out, he'll eat eventually..lol

My chocolate cichlids have me trained too
Crickets, krill and earthworms. Maybe a pellet if they want to tease me.

My aro bosses me too. I just can't see starving him to get him onto pellets. He eats mostly superworms and the ocaisional piece of market shrimp.

Someone told me this when I was trying to get my aro to take pellets "would have to be an awfully stupid fish to starve to death when your offering food multiple times a day". That said I guess I should mention he still wont eat pellets:irked:
