Has anyone here seen a fully grown Niger Triggerfish? How much was it faded from adolescence? Was it still blue? I can only find pictures of blue ones and mine is only about 6 to 8 inches SL. I must add, his streamers from his tail are over 3 inches! But anyway, have I only seen juv. and adol. pictures, or do they stay this same basic coloration?

I believe they stay the same coloration. I have seen some pretty big ones at the aquarium and they were still brightly colored .

they keep pretty much the same color but they can change it at a moments notice..

for example they have a good patch of blue/green on them, if stressed feeding etc etc that can fade FAST.. but that's true for pretty much any fish

they stay just about the same but the overall depletes SLIGHTLY..

That's what I thought. I've been in this argument with someone for a few months, now. I know they can change drastically in seconds, though. Tom, my trigger, changes in the most awesome shades. Especially when he tries to bite me.

I agree; the niger triggerfish is one of my favorites. And of course, I love the fangs! It goes along really well with the jaw chomping noise they make.
