where the corruption never ends
Well, I've been planning to transfer my silver arowana into my 100 gal tank 6x1.5x1.8 for 3 days already but I'm wondering how to transfer him because I want to ensure his safety while I'm transfering him. My plan is to put him in a bucket filled with the old water of his tank by net then put water from the the bigger tank to condition him to the temperature. Is it safe? if you have any other suggestions then feel free to do so.

Nasa Pinas ka no??? Corruption never ends eh.. For the sake of the other members, I'll type in English.

What you do is you get a big enough plastic bag that you will use to catch him inside the tank. You need another person to do this. One person holds the plastic bag and the other uses the net to influence the fish to go towards the direction of the plastic bag. From there, have a cooler ready, set the plastic bag (with the fish in it), drip acclimation with an airstone and after 45 minutes to 1 hour, you transfer him. You do this by getting a much smaller plastic bag that is big enough to fit the arowana. Once you get it, put him in the new tank. Some water from the smaller tank will transfer but it should be ok considering that you have regular water changes and the parameters are ideal.

I agree 100% with the plastic bag. I did that last weekend with a 15" aro, and the fish practically swam into the bag. I used a white plastic garbage bag. Just don't put too much water in the bag as too much weight will make the bag rip. Just get enough water in the bag to get the fish out. Put it in a large plastic bin. Then add enough old water to cover the fishes back. Then drip it into the new tank.

Clear plastic bag works better. By the way, this was shown to me firsthand by xcuter.

Is the bucket wide enough...i suggest a big plastic container at least..then start the drip acclimation from there.

the bucket seems wide enough for my silver to swam around for a couple o' min....

i have a huge pond net i use for my big fish, and you can get a 45gal rubbermaid at target for like $20...comes in very handy in these situations.

plastic bag...
