As I have mentioned before I try to buy new food for my fish every time for them to have some basic variation in their diet. This time around I picked up some Omega One Large Cichlid Pellets... I threw some of them in and my fish attacked them like regular food.... and few seconds later just spit it out. Try again, spit it out. Try again, spit it out and at that point just leave it alone.

Kind of got me confused but then I started to check out the pellets and it hit me these little things are harder then DOG FOOD.

Ingredients: Whole Salmon, Whole Herring, Seafood Mix (including Krill, Rockfish & Shrimp), Wheat Flour, Wheat Gluten, Fresh Kelp, Astaxanthin, L-Ascorbyl-2-Phosphate (source of vitamin C), Natural and Artifical Colours, Vitamin A Acetate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Vitamin E Supplement, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Riboflavin, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, Folic Acid, Biotin, Inositol, Tocopherol (preservative), Ethoxyquin (preservative).

Min. Crude Protein...35%
Min. Crude Fat.........10%
Max. Crude Fibre.......2%
Max. Moisture.........8.5%
Max. Ash...................8%
Min. Phosphorus....(.5%)
Min. Omega 3.............1%
Min. Omega 6.........(.5%)

What do you guys think of this? I currently decided to soak them, which takes more then 10 minutes for these things because they are so hard.

I give my kensfish pellets a minimum of 10 minutes to soak prior to feeding, and even 10 minutes is insufficient to really make them soft. Better to let them sit for 20-30 minutes.

From a nutritional standpoint they are pretty good-Anne

I think 35% protein is simply not adequate for most cichlids. Get a better brand like Hikari or Tetra. I use TetraCichlid pellets to feed my pikes and oscars, and they love it (and me).

The ingredients on Omega One are good. No fillers. Salmon and Herring instead of fish meal.

I heard a lot of good things about NLS too.

It's good food.

All my fish love it.

Never had to convert for them to eat it.

They all just readily eat it with out having to try to STARVE THEM.

First couple in ingredents is NOT fish meal either.

LOVe IT.

Thats the only drawback. But quality doesnt come cheap.

And if you think thats expensive, try feeding nice sized rays with shrimps
and worms. 35 a week is nothing.

It's nothing when you just YOINK it.
I've never used the life spectrum.
I almost got some to try to sell at the store.
I'll have to give it a try.
I sell Omega like HOT CAKES BABY...

WTG IHF! I dont use pellets nowadays though. Im all about feeding raw meat
to my fish . . . cant compare the growth and overall vigor of the fish. :newbie:
