Minimum for rays

I am picking up a 125g 72x18 is the footprint, this weekend, should be a mature tank, but with a complete water replacement not sure where the tank will be at. Anyways I won't be putting anything in there right away but am debating what to stock it with right now. Originally bought it as an upgrade for my piranhas but was now thinking rays or arowana or combination of both.

The thing is I will not be upgrading anything in the next 5 years or so. So this is as big as it gets for me.

Would this tank be suitable for a ray or two? Or is that pushing it. I posted a similiar thread in the arrow forum which said the arrow might be pushing the limits of the tank so maybe scratch the arrow and have rays with something else.

Anyways what kind of rays could I fit in here for life and at what cost? Not looking to spend more than 75$ for a ray so that may limit my choices.

Input is appreciated and if the tank is too small to hold them no big deal, it'll just limit my choices

no rays for life, and the only ray you are goign to find for under 75 will give you a reticulated ray any more questions on rays and tank sizes look in the stingray profile sticky

sorry, I browsed through the sticky, and posted because wasn't sure if there was a smaller ray that wasn't posted. Wasnt sure about the smaller "teacup" rays but now that I read through the sticky, it did have teacup rays and also will not fit :( O well, will make the final decision easier.

yea tea cups are just the trade name for small rays

ya I figured they'd be smaller but didn't realize they will still need a tank that I have no intention of buying them in the future, so I guess rays are out for me.

wow most people wouldnt admit that... you could also maybe find some local ray keepers and maybe grow one or 2 out and just trade or sell them off in a few years ;)
