I have a 125 with a 20 tall sump, I've got a 950 gph pump that have a valve restricting its output to about 2/3rds capacity.

I think it's because the overflow skimmer I'm using is only rated for 600 gph.

Should I scrap the overflow box and build my own pvc job?

The water has to exit the skimmer box thru a 1 inch pipe. Is that my problem?

The pipe on top is for emergency overflow, the bottom is the main, that plastic topper with the tube down is just a contraption to keep it from gurgling.

Could I just run another siphon pipe to supplement the overflow box?

Help please:confused:

the U that allows the water to drain from the tank into the overflow box is only going to flow as much as it can... you could add another drain out of the box itself.. but you may also have to add an additional U pipe from the tank into the overflow (dont forget to keep both ends below the water line).. i had to do the same on my overflow.. i also got to make a 3" tall double dorso stand pipe to deal with the noise..

I've setup one of these for my sister. the same overflow and the pump was a 960 gph we had to cut the other riser off at water level and then it ran at full power and stop making as noise.
