Can some one tell me how long butti get.How much do they usually run and are they in the cichlid famillay

Buttikoferi are indeed cichlids (West Africa). They top out at about 16 inches and are very aggressive! A very large aquarium is required to keep a buttikoferi with other fish. They are not that expensive (usually under $10 for juveniles) and easy to breed.:)
