If it has spots, it is a CK....a nice one at that..

i've seen one with 25 spots on each side!!...i've heard in captive breeding the male has always had less spots, so if that helps.
Just a variation in patterning.

The spots must always be even otherwise you will be taxed at a significantly higher rate due the imbalance your fish is causing to the ratio of spots per side CK indices.
This is in breach of several codes and du-restrictions so be very careful who you disclose this information to.
My fish is also causing me this problem and I now currently fighting the tax department. It is normal mate don't worry.

Clown knifes all have different numbers of spots but it is possible you have a differen't species Chitala Chitala usually have alot of spots while Chitala ornata usually have only a few spots which are usually pretty small

mine has 9 on one side, 16 on the other LOL !!!
i think it has to do with how much time each side spends exposed directly to the aquarium light. and mine must swim a loop so his right side is exposed more ;)
