I have 3 Oscars and have kept Oscars for some time now. But i have never tried to feed them frozen Pinky's( Baby Mice ) is this recomended ? or can't there digestive system handle them ?

use pinky feedings as entertainment only. prolly not a good part of a regular diet.
and use live pinkies. Feeding dead ones provides no entertainment.

hahah, true get a live one. entertainment feedings are always the best. i think mammals have way too much fat to be a staple food item.

ya...I have it on video, a baby hamster being chased and eaten by oacars.
I did it like a week ago.
It was AWESOME. :)
hummm going to have to try this one day .. watch my O choke and die that would suk hehe

cichlids don't choke; they have powerful chewing jaws in their throat, along the insides of their gills, called pharyngeal mill/jaws, that thoroughly tear up food before it enters the stomach
