yea i knew he would come round in the end, its like the smaller one looks up to 'mate' (the bigger one)
as soon as i put him in the tank he swam straight over to him and when hes not with him he goes to the filter...thats it lol

yea if i take him in to my lfs when i go on holiday alot of ppl look in the box and ALWAYS go WOW...then ask, 'do all plecs get that big? coz i got 5 in a 5gal'
my answer...go get urself a pond! haha, thats exactly what i intend to do with these so they have alot of space. although my big one can turn around no problem i hate the fact my tanks not just that bit wider...like 2ft lol

Hi chloe, you say the small one sucks on your bichir?
If thats true that is not good,if they suck on them they damage the slime coat which may very well kill the poly!

Cheers steve

dont tell me that steve lol i thought it was out of love!!!
barry (the bichir) usually sticks his spikes up and swims off, so never lasts more than a few seconds, all my plecs try and do it to him coz he stays in the same position too long lol....i think they wisened up to doing to my talking catfish haha

No really,if you do a search on it .most people will say dont keep plecs with bichir!
I didnt realise this, and it doesnt kill the poly everytime but it definitely doesnt make for a happy bichir, there was a quite a recent thread about it.

Cheers steve

okidokie no probs, hes just about to be moved in to another tank with the catfish and 2malawis, then that leaves the plecs with pretty much their own tank, apart from a 3inch FH and a 4inch Front :D so its all good.
