Altum Angelfish?

I am looking into a high temp planted setup and I am exploring my options on fish. I have heard of Altums but know nothing about them. can someone tell me about these? I am thinking a 55 or 75gal setup. I would ike to add cardinal tetras,rummynose tetras, My gold nugget pleco and maybe some discus.. I also was thinking some apisto's or some blue rams as well. is this a possible combo with altums? are these thing as hard to keep as discus? any help would be great. thanks

also this is my one angel and it kind of looks like an altum just wondering if some one could tell me if it was or not.

It's not an Altum.

These are Altums. They are not for the faint of heart. Definitely much more difficult to bring into an aquarium setup. However once acclimated to tank conditions they are just as hardy as other Angels.

As you said, they need warm and acidic water, pH 5 - 7 and KH 0. They'll get tall, so a tall tank would be fine. Mine eats bloodworms, heart of ox, mysis and shrimp.
I think you can combo the ram with altum. I keep mine together with cory-cats, Sturisoma and Ancistrus.

Altums are deeper in the body than they are long, yours looks like a scalares. They can be kept with nonaggressive fish that are not fin nippers or to small as they will eat young guppies, neons, etc. Planted tanks and high quality food is best, they can reach breeding size in around six months from nickle sized bodies.
