Has anyone caught/kept a salt water wolf fish? I hear they are really nasty aggressive fish. :feedback:

I have just never heard of one until today talking with someone who caught one and they said they are vicious. I was wondering if any were kept in captivity :22_yikes:

i'm sure they aren't any more vicious than a freshwater wolf fish, or any other large predatory fish for that matter...
there are a number of saltwater moray species that can be kept in the aquarium, which will bite their keeper though.

You mean a wolf eel?
They are really a type of blenny and grow to 8' and can be quite tame or so most sites say.
Give me the creeps personally.

Wouldn't you need a large tank and a huge chiller for these Wolf Eels?
wolf fish are from they atlantic, puget sound contains the related wolfeel up to 10+' crab eaters not agressive but scary and have a mouth that can crush a horse clam, Rub them with rocksalt, skin them and steak them out at 1 1/2" thick then grill em with oil, peppergrass and lemon juice
I saw one of these in the series, Living Seas. They were also eating sea urchins, spines and all.
Reicpe sounds yummy, guppy.

I dont think u could easily keep this in an aquarium... Ive seen em b4 and heard about them. I dont think it would hesitate about biting your hand off... Really mean, i believe my dad sometimes gets em in crab traps, and has to remove them and throw them back.
