Anyone certain of their max size? I read around 4/5 inch and Ive even read 7 inches. I seen a youtube viideo too and the Hoplo looked kinda large. So I am unsure.

Hoplosternum Thoractum, the most common seen species can grow to 11'' BUT this is highly unlikely and usually only in the wild..8'' is a good size in the home aquaria..

Never really seen a thoaracatum over 4-5", but i bet that if you kept them long enough and treat them well they could get bigger.

I've had mine for a while, and they've gotten to about 6" or so. Haven't seen any much bigger than that, although Fish Base and Planet Catfish both say they should max out at 5".
