What are the weirdest mix of fish you have ever seen in a tank? Successful tanks only... don't need to hear about the pirhanna and gold fish that lived together for 2 days before the P ripped it apart lol

Silver Dollar with rbp, guys did it at the lfs to see how long it would last. It was about two years before the rb's finally tore it apart they thought because the dollar did not grow as fast and was a lot smaller and so, become lunch.

o yea i forgot to mention. it was a 55g community with 4 male bettas.

turns out their aggression is way over hyped and if the tank is heavily planted and creates visual barriers...they set up their terrirtories like cichlids.

obviously in a small tank one betta will die just like any other aggressive fish. you dont put 2 mbuna in a 5g and expect harmony, right?

*waits for the bs about a guy putting 2 bettas in a lake and they find each other*

Coryd55 (http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/member.php?u=42970) You still have the kuhli's? I wish I could pick them up. I think they are really cool and am kinda building a loach tank. I am not doing what is recommended, as i have no two of the same. They do still seem to shoal together though,

A 3 lb. P'bass and a 6" Green Heckel Discus that were "in love". The Discus even started trying to go after the shiners that I fed the P'bass. I had them for about a year before I sold the P'bass. The guy that bought him, had to come back about two weeks later and buy the Discus to stop the P'bass from sulking. Last I heard two years later they were still inseperatable.

Aro & Discus

Oh and a 4/5 inch goldish with a 2 foot or so Aro. And the goldfish was bossing the Aro.

Ive had a jewel cichlid and ruby scat with eachother and the Jewel was in love with it, followed it everywhere. I think it was intrigued by it since it appeared a little unusual.

also about how bettas will kill each other
they only kill each other because the loser cant just swim away like in the wild how as soon as one gets a little hurt he is declaried loser and makes a hasty retriet but I suppose in theory it could work out if they had their territories
