Well, today is one of the saddest of my adult life http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif
Boo has been staying at work in a heated pond for the last month or so. Last night the heater tripped out, that coupled with overnight temperatures under freezing, killed Boo.
I am so sad about this, she has been with me through the most difficult times in my life. Always waving at me through the glass and keen to have a look at what was going on outside of the tank. The most calming influence on me. What a loss.
RIP

still in a state of shock mate. I just can't believe it. I was devastated this morning when you told me so god knows how upset you still are. There is no fish that compares to the loss of a mbu imo.

Sorry for your loss. She was a gorgeous fish. You did a wonderful job of caring for her. Most Mbu's in captivity don't live long enough or in the right conditions to get that large.

George,
I was saving mu 100th post for a project I have been working on really hard lately. It's yours bud, just to say I feel for you! I won't buy an MBU because I can't provide for one properly yet, you obviously did and well at that, even though I want one more than any other fish.
If you print a couple of hoodies, me and the wife will buy a couple from you if it helps you for a new MBU fund. Just a thought. I hope you are lucky enough to find a new one and enjoy it from the begining again. :hearts:

Only just come across this as I only found the site today, and as I have a 14" MBU in a very large tank I thought I'd look them up....Sadly I come across your thread about Boo! What an amazing fish! They have such characters and I've always felt that the only reason that they live in water is cause they have to but I know mine would much rather be out of the tank doing more of the stuff we do...he's always watching tele, watched the kids kick a ball about in front of his tank...he's a real get involved with the family fish.
You must be gutted by this I know I'd have to get another one if I lost mine....Did you ever get a replacement for Boo?
Regards
Mark

long story short an old roommate(hence the word old) screwed up with Peco and our electricity got turned off for like 2 days. i was very worried for my fish, more so my two green spotted puffers. the thermometer on the side of the tank only reads down to like 70 and the very last one was the only one that was bright which told me it was probably actually like 60ish in the tank. surprisingly and luckily i didnt lose anyone and probably would have been very upset so i couldnt imagine losing a puffer that was of that nature! i feel for you definitely, sorry for you loss.
